We believe that the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments in their original texts, are fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, without error, and are the final authority for the Church. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the absolute deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, the authenticity of His miracles, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, and his present mediatorial work in heaven. We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit. We believe He gives life, He sanctifies, He empowers and comforts all believers. We believe that man was originally created sinless. Tempted by Satan, man fell and thereby brought the whole race under the condemnation of eternal separation from God. We believe that man is saved through repentance and faith in the finished work of Christ. Justification is through grace alone. We believe that the Church is the body of Jesus Christ composed of all true believers. The present work of the Church is the worship of God, the perfecting of the saints, and the evangelization of the world.…
The Good News
For six years, our region witnessed in wonder as the gap between Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick Canada was slowly bridged. Finally on June 1, 1997 the Confederation Bridge opened. What an amazing work! It cost millions of dollars, family sacrifices and even the lives of three men. Such a tiny island hidden on the coast of Eastern Canada attracted the attention of much of the world that day. And for what? A bridge! May this bridge serve to remind you of something actually impossible, that of building a bridge to heaven. Just as PEI is naturally separated from the mainland, so the Bible states that our sins have separated us from God. This may not seem so serious to those for whom separation from God is a natural and normal state. If you are such a one, you need to know that the sins which separate you from God while you live, will separate you from Him eternally should you die without them forgiven. Sin is not something God passes over, for He is holy. God has said He will judge all people for their sin, and He keeps His word. People try to bridge this gulf between…
Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to meet with the first Christians? One of the greatest blessings this side of heaven is to gather with others who take God and His Word seriously. We are a group of believers saved by grace through faith in Christ and His finished work (Eph. 2:8-9) who meet simply around the Lord Jesus, seeking to follow only the directions given in the New Testament. We believe that the church is God’s idea. Christians do not meet in congregations merely because it is desirable or helpful, but because the Lord has ordained it. (l Thess. 2:14). Our Lord Himself first spoke of the church when He declared that He was its builder and would establish it on a sure foundation (Mt. 16:18). He also first spoke concerning the local gatherings of believers (Mt. 18:17). There may be some things about a local church like this that would be different to you. We would appreciate a few moments to explain how we meet and why. By the way, there are many who meet like this. You may have heard of names like George Muller, the great man of faith; H. A. Ironside,…
